Curiosity without
surveillance.

Carbon in Context is free, educational and designed to work without profiles, advertising or behavioural tracking.

The short version

Your inputs belong to you.

The website does not create accounts, run advertising trackers, use behavioural analytics or maintain a personal database of what you enter.

What stays in your browser

Birthday dates, airport searches, calculator amounts and scenarios are processed in your browser. The only preference that may remain on your device is your selected unit system.

02

What sharing reveals

Shareable links contain the inputs needed to reproduce a result. A birthday link can reveal the selected date, and a scenario link can reveal its activities. The site warns you before sharing sensitive result state.

03

How live data works

Same-site refresh layers check public NOAA and Our World in Data records. They do not receive your birthday date, calculator values, airport route, scenario contents or country selection.

04

Essential delivery data

Like any hosted website, the infrastructure delivering Carbon in Context may process basic technical connection data needed for security and reliable delivery. The website does not use that data to build behavioural profiles.

05

External source links

Sources open on third-party websites. Their own privacy practices apply once you follow an external link; Carbon in Context does not add tracking parameters to those links.

06

No hidden commercial purpose

There are no paid accounts, targeted advertisements or data sales. The site exists to make climate and carbon information easier to understand and share.
